From managing quality to leading the entire Crayford site, Lirim’s journey at N+P is built on growth, responsibility, and pride. Since joining in 2016, he has seen the site and its people develop rapidly, with safety and teamwork at the heart of everything they do.
In this blog, he shares how Crayford has evolved, why safety is a way of life on site, and what keeps his energy and enthusiasm strong after nearly a decade.
Q: Can you introduce yourself and share your role at N+P?
"I’m the Plant Manager in Crayford. I joined N+P in 2016 as a Quality Supervisor. I was given the task of managing quality, and from there I was promoted quite quickly to Supervisor. After that, I was given the opportunity to manage the whole site, which I was very excited about."
Q: How would you explain what happens at the Crayford site?
"We recycle material based on selective grading and then pass it on to the next step for regeneration. That’s how I really see it, taking material step by step and giving it a new purpose."
Q: How has the site changed since you joined?
"The site has grown massively since I joined, not just the site itself, but also the people and their experience. In this kind of environment, you’re dealing with people every day, and the most important thing is keeping them safe. Safety has become a key part of life at Crayford."
"If I don’t bring the energy, the team won’t have it either."
Q: What makes you proud of the team and the site today?
"At the moment, we’ve exceeded every expectation, but we still haven’t found the top. There’s always more we can achieve."
Q: What keeps you motivated after so many years?
"I’m very proud to still be here. People used to ask me, ‘Oh, you’re here again?’ and yes, I’ve been here for seven or eight years now. I still have the energy and enthusiasm for my work, because if I don’t have it, then the team won’t have it either."
