Emma's Perspective

From fixing a printer at her interview to streamlining finance processes across multiple sites — Emma’s journey with N+P is one of pride and lasting impact. Since joining over six years ago, she has become a key part of the Teesside team, helping to support operations while building strong connections with colleagues.

In this blog, we share Emma’s perspective on finding a family-like environment at work, the pride she takes in N+P’s progress, and the memorable moments that continue to inspire her journey.

Q: Can you introduce yourself and share your role at N+P??
“I am Emma Gibson, I am the management accountant for Teesside in UK Trading, and I've worked with N+P for just over 6 years."

Q: Do you remember your first experience with N+P?
"My first meeting with N+P was my interview, I fixed the printer that day and printed my own resume for the previous plant manager. He took me out on to the plant and I immediately knew it was somewhere that I wanted to be.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working here?
"I enjoy coming to work to work with the people and my colleagues. You spend your life at work, so having that family environment, whether it’s with Karol, Karin or the boys. You get that family feeling, it is personal when you see them, it’s not, you are not just a colleague."

"I do have a small box on my desk with the first pellets that were produced from site, which I've kept as a memento"

Q: What does a typical day look like for you?
"Every day is different. Dealing with rooted invoices through to dealing with month’s end, or reviewing balance sheets. Even though I work in the finance environment, knowing that the plant is running smoothly, whether it’s at TSP or at Hartlepool, it gives you a good vibe."

Q: What kind of impact do you hope to make in your role?
"The biggest impact that I am trying to make is to improve or streamline the processes that we do, in finance. When it first started, it was very small. To what it is now, it’s grown to a new level, which I think is so impressive and amazing to see. It gives me a sense of pride of where I work, because of what they achieve now, it’s just amazing."
