From connecting waste streams across Europe to developing alternative fuels that replace fossil energy — Jens’ journey with N+P spans a decade of commercial growth and innovation. What began as a family business has evolved into a major European player, and he has been closely involved in shaping that transformation.
In this blog, we share his perspective on giving waste a second life, scaling N+P beyond Europe, and the pride he feels seeing a family legacy grow into an international force.
Q: Can you introduce yourself and share your role at N+P?
"I joined N+P ten years ago and have held several commercial roles throughout the years. Today, I serve as the Commercial Director."
Q: For those unfamiliar with N+P, how would you describe what we do?
"We give waste a second life. On one hand, we focus on sorting and recycling; on the other, we connect waste surpluses in certain European countries with the needs of others. We organise the logistics between those markets, and for the non-recyclable waste streams, we produce pellets that can replace fossil fuels."
"It’s incredible to see how a small family business, founded 35 years ago by my parents, has grown into one of Europe’s leading players in waste sorting and alternative fuel production."
Q: How do you see the future of N+P?
"Right now, most of our operations are in Europe, but I expect us to expand beyond European borders. We’ve built a strong organisation that’s ready to take the next step internationally."
Q: What drives your passion for this industry?
"Waste is often seen as worthless, even though it’s the opposite. Waste contains diverse streams that can be given a second life. By maximising what we recover and reuse, we actively contribute to a more circular economy."
