Rotterdam, 18th of November 2021

N+P Group (N+P) today announced that N+P Production Holding Netherlands BV (NPPH) has entered into a binding agreement to acquire the Light Weight packaging sorting plant in Rotterdam from PreZero Netherlands.

The plant sorts approximately 110.000 tons of light weight packaging (LWP) per annum, making it one of the largest sorting plants in the Netherlands. The 70.000m² site is strategically located in the Port of Rotterdam and has direct access to an own quayside. The acquisition reflects N+P’s confidence in the sites management team and the significant synergies it sees between the existing operations and Subcoal, N+P’s patented waste derived alternative fuel.

“This agreement is aligned with N+P's corporate strategy of focusing on decarbonising industries and offers great potential for further investment to expand the site and vertically integrate it with Subcoal production. We are convinced that we are very well positioned for further growth with the acquisition of the Rotterdam site and we are actively pursuing further acquisition opportunities in the European market, further announcements will be made shortly.”

Wieger Droogh, CEO PreZero Netherlands: “We are very proud of everything we realized in the area of household plastics at our sorting plant in Rotterdam. Therefore, it was important to us to sell our plant to a buyer with ambition. A buyer that wants to further expand the activities on the location. N+P is a company that does so. That is why we made a well-considered choice for N+P. At N+P, both the plant and the employees are in very good hands”.

Over the next five years, N+P intends to significantly increase the number of production plants it operates. Further aspects will be announced shortly. In parallel to a rapid expansion of plants, N+P is also aiming to grow the legacy business of bridging waste to value: waste to energy feedstock trading and development and supply of alternative raw materials, in which the N+P Group has almost 30 years of experience.

This deal is subject to approval of the European Commission.
